Default Nikkei Lowest In 26 Years

For the first time in 26 years, the Nikkei dipped below 7000. It didn't take long to pick up again a little, recovering by lunchtime but all the same, this is seemingly rather powerful confirmation of the globally failing markets.

Default Certainly a global crisis

It may take a bit longer to permeate through all the markets but it is not possible for the US situation not to effect every other financial market in the world. We are too big and too involved all around the globe for it not to have fallout everywhere.

More importantly we owe too much money to too many countries for this not to affect the world. People are now talking about the US defaulting on its debts, and the effects that will have worldwide. Certainly people are thinking that we are in this now for the very, very worst.

Default Rebounding nicely

Yesterday's closing was back to 9,114.60 which more than made up for the 5% drop before the weekend. It's definitely up and down on a daily basis, similar to what we've seen in the US stock markets recently.

We need to look more for stability not the small rises and falls. If seems to be a yo yo right now, all of them do. We've had just two days of increases-give it a week and maybe there will be some hope.
