Kingfisher plc is an international home improvement retailer offering home improvement products through a network of retail sites, located mainly in the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia. As of February 3, 2007, the Company operated over 700 stores in 11 countries across Europe and Asia, including the United Kingdom, France, Poland, Italy, Turkey, China and Taiwan. The Company principally operates through its main retail brands B&Q, Castorama, Brico Depot and Screwfix Direct. It also operates through Koctas in Turkey and Trade Depot. In addition, Kingfisher plc also has a 21% interest in, and strategic alliance with Hornbach Holding A.G., a do-it-yourself (DIY) warehouse retailer, which operates over 120 stores in Germany and in seven neighboring countries. During the fiscal year ended February 3, 2007, the Company acquired the remaining minority interest in three of its B&Q China subsidiaries.
