Lennar Corporation is a homebuilder and a provider of financial services. Its homebuilding operations include the construction and sale of single-family attached and detached homes, and to a lesser extent, multi-level buildings, as well as the purchase, development and sale of residential land directly and through unconsolidated entities, in which it has investments. The Company has grouped its homebuilding activities into three segments: Homebuilding East, Homebuilding Central and Homebuilding West. Information about homebuilding activities in states that are not similar to other states in the same geographic area is grouped under Homebuilding Other. Its Financial Services segment provides mortgage financing, title insurance, closing services and other ancillary services (including personal lines insurance, high-speed Internet and cable television) for both buyers of its homes and others. It sells substantially all of the loans that it originates in the secondary mortgage market.
