Persimmon PLC is engaged in house building in England, Wales and Scotland. The Company trades under the brand names of Persimmon Homes, Charles Church, City Developments, Westbury Partnerships and Space4. During the year ended December 31, 2006, Persimmon sold more than 16,700 homes from over 500 sites. The Company operates in three divisions: North division, Central division and South division. The North division completed 4,069 units in 2006. The Central division is the largest of Persimmon’s three divisions. In 2006, completions in the Central division totaled 6,156 units. In the South division, completions totaled 3,578 units in 2006. In 2006, the Company acquired Westbury plc, which is the parent company of a group of companies involved in house building. In 2006, Persimmon also acquired the remaining 50% interest in Wescott Holdings Limited.
