Tata Motor Sept sales Up 22 % to 78786 units
Maruti Suzuki India’s largest car maker reported a 20.8 percent decline in its net sales for September. The total net sales for the month of September were 85565? units? a midst? its? labour? strike at Manesar plant? largely? affected the production. During the September 2010 the company sold 108006 units.
The strikes in the Manesar plant? adversely impacted the sales? in this month. There has been a large disruption in production at the Manesar plant because of labour issues. The Manesar Plant is a major production house of Maruti Suzuki which rolls out high volumeof? compact cars majorly Swift which is in the waiting period for customers for over 4? months. The plant also produces? sedan SX4 and A-Star.
? Maruti’s exports in the month September also fell by 47.5 percent to 6749 units from 12858 units a year ago in the same period. The total passenger car segment? sales in the domestic market? fell by 17.8 percent to 66667 units last month from 81060 units? a year ago. Sales of? its mini segment cars A-Star, Alto, WagonR and M800 dip by 23.5 percent to 37324 units from 48780 units during the same period in 2010. The compact segment (consisting Ritz, Swift and Estilo) reported a 9.3 percent dip in its sales of 19722 units from 21749? units in September 2010. Sales of DZiRE grew by 9.9 percent to 9411 units from 8566 unit in the same period in 2010. Maruti mid-sized car sedan SX4′s sales dipped by 90 percent to 196 unit from 1965 units a year ago during the same month. Its luxury Kizashi sales were 14 units.
