WAM Development Group Welcomes High Profile Retail Tenants to Emerald Hills Centre

WAM Development Group, a North American leader in commercial real estate development, has announced several major retail tenants to occupy space in the uniquely designed, 600,000 square foot Emerald Hills Centre in north Sherwood Park, Alberta.

A strong lineup of international, national and regional box tenants will join current anchor tenant Wal-Mart Canada. These tenants include Winners, Bed Bath & Beyond, Visions Electronics, and Golf Town. Several more well-recognized brands are currently in negotiations to join the pedestrian friendly 'contemporary urban village,' designed specifically to encourage walking and window shopping.

"We look forward to relocating Winners to the Emerald Hills development," said Shannon Johnson, Manager of Public Relations and Sponsorship, Winners, a division of TJX Canada. "This larger location will allow us to offer even more brand name and designer fashions at up to 60 per cent less than department or specialty stores."

"We're pleased with the interest tenants have expressed to be a part of our new urban designed development," said Alex Thomson, Senior Vice President of Retail, WAM Development. "We still have leasing spaces available for junior anchors such as fashion retailers, quick service restaurants and sit down restaurants. Emerald Hills offers a highly visible location with easy access to major routes and convenient amenities."

Also planned for the Centre is a medical professional office building. Located adjacent to the new hospital and immediately next to a major drug store, future tenants will benefit from the traffic generated from the anchor tenants and the large assortment of services nearby.

The Centre is prominently located in the affluent community of Strathcona County, sitting adjacent to Highway 16 between the Sherwood Drive and Cloverbar Road interchanges. The initial phase of construction is forecasted to be complete by summer of 2012 with stores open for business in September 2012.
