Retail Trade In Japan Rises In July
(RTTNews) - Retail Sales in Japan increased in July by 0.7 percent compared to June, according to government data released on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Finance also reported that for the full year to July 2010, retail sales increased 3.9 percent.
Most economists forecast an on-month increase of 2.4 percent and an on-year increase of 3.5 percent.
The finance ministry also said large retailers' sales decreased 1.2 percent on month, following a 3.0 percent decline in June.
Economists had forecast a 1.3 percent decline for large retailers.
