REpower Systems AG Inaugurates New Technology Center In Germany; Suzlon Energy

(RTTNews) - Suzlon Energy Ltd. said REpower Systems AG inaugurated on August 25 a new technology center at Osterronfeld, in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernforde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Suzlon Energy holds over 90 per cent holding in REpower.

The company said the new center would bring together around 470 employees, from the fields of research and development, as well as technical support and services, earlier spread across offices in Rendsburg, Budelsdorf and Husum.

The control center of the Permanent Monitoring Systems department, located at the technology center, is equipped to remotely monitor REpower's global fleet of more than 2,500 turbines.

The research and technology center is built by Max Bogi Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG on an area of 11,700 sq. meters. In addition to research activities and development of the REpower wind turbines and products, the worldwide service and maintenance of onshore and offshore turbines will be organized from the center, it added.
