Pernod Ricard Full Year Profit Up - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Pernod Ricard SA (RI) reported a marginal rise in profit for the financial year ended June 30, 2010, despite lower sales, helped by lower expenses.

Profit for the period was EUR 978 million, up from EUR 966 million last year. Group share of net profit improved 1% to EUR 951 million from EUR 945 million in the previous year.

Net sales fell 2% to EUR 7.08 billion from EUR 7.20 billion in the prior year period.

The company noted that dividend of EUR 1.34 per share in respect of the 2009/10 financial year will be submitted for approval to the annual general meeting of November 10, 2010.

Pierre Pringuet, chief executive officer, stated, "Our performance over the 2009/10 financial year was a strong and sound one. Our priorities for the 2010/11 financial year remain the development of our premium strategic brands, a continuing strong marketing investment level, and the reduction in Group debt."
