Wet Seal August Comps Up 1.1% - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Women's apparel and accessories retailer Wet Seal Inc. (WTSLA) reported Thursday a rise in both comparable store sales and total sales for the month of August 2010.
for the four-week period ended August 28, 2010, the Foothill Ranch, California-based retailer's total comparable store sales were up 1.1%, compared to a decline of 11.2% in the prior-year period.
On a divisional basis, comparable store sales at Wet Seal business were up 1.5% versus a 12.6% decrease in the last-year period, and comparable store sales at Arden B segment decreased 1.8% as compared with a 1.8% decrease in August 2009.
Total sales for the month rose 4.2% from the last year to $52.6 million. The company's Wet Seal sales were $46.0 million, a 5.5% rise from the prior year. Sales from Arden B business declined 4.4% to $6.6 million from the prior year.
