Medgenics Appoints Veterinary Expert Stephen Ettinger To To Strategic Advisory Board - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Medgenics, Inc (MEDG.L) announced Thursday the appointment to its Strategic Advisory Board of Dr. Stephen Ettinger, a world-renowned expert in veterinary medicine.
The company noted that Dr. Ettinger sits on the Board of Trustees at Cornell University and holds memberships at the California Veterinary Medical Association, the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
Commenting on the appointments, Dr. Andrew Pearlman, CEO of Medgenics said, "The appointment of Dr Ettinger to the advisory board is an important strategic move for Medgenics as it opens the possibility of extending application of our Biopump platform techonology into veterinary medicine.
According to the company, the process for manufacture and insertion of biopumps was similar for animals and humans, but regulatory route was less arduous for the veterinary side, which would translate into earlier revenue-generating products.
Medgenics is a commercial-stage, biopharmaceutical company, developing its unique tissue-based Biopump platform technology to provide sustained-action protein therapy for the treatment of a range of chronic diseases.
MEDG.L closed Wednesday's trading session on the London Stock Exchange at 7.25 pence, down 0.88 pence or 10.7%. Over the past year, the stock has traded in a range of 5.25 pence - 10.99 pence.
