VimpelCom Q2 Profit Drops - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Telecommunications services provider VimpelCom Ltd. (VIP) Thursday reported a decline in second quarter profit, reflecting a net foreign exchange loss recorded in the period compared to a gain last year.
For the quarter, the company said net income attributable to VimpelCom was $334.74 million or $0.28 per share compared to $700.53 million or $0.69 per share in the previous year.
On average, two analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.40 per share. Analyst's estimates typically exclude special items. Total operating revenues for the three months increased to $2.64 billion from $2.15 billion a year ago. Market expectation was for revenues of $2.69 billion for the period.
