Aurobindo Pharma Enters Into Licensing And Supply Agreements With AstraZeneca

(RTTNews) - Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. announced entering into licensing and supply agreements with AstraZeneca to supply several solid dosage and sterile products of emerging markets.

The agreement will support AstraZeneca's investment in Branded Generics sold n Emerging markets. These products fall under the broad range of important therapeutic segments, such as anti-infective, cardiovascular system and central nervous system financial terms are discussed, the company said.

Aurobindo Chairman P.V Ramprasad Reddy said, "Aurobindo's proven track record in building strong, collaborative working relationships is a key driver for these strategic agreements with AstraZeneka, which will accelerate on growth plans.

In 2009, AstraZeneca generated total revenues of $32.8 billion, the company added.

AstraZeneca is a global, innovation-driven biopharmaceutical business with a primary focus on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines.

At the BSE, Aurobindo Pharma shares are now trading at Rs.1,053, up by 0.79% from the previous close.
