KEFI Minerals has announced an exploration update for the Selib North and Jibal Qutman prospects. In Saudi Arabia. The results of four holes have been released from Selib North and they are relatively shallow, with reasonable widths and economic grades. Trenching results were released for the Jibal Qutman prospect.

This is more good news. The good trenching results at Selib North have been quickly followed up with some very promising drill results. The shallowest result released was 2m grading 3.16g/t from 34m. Drilled to a depth of only 100m, these holes indicate that the gold is hosted in a series of steeply dipping pyrite dykes. A follow up IP survey is planned to commence in October 2012 to define further drill targets at depth below the current drilling and further to the north, where the potential strike continuation of the dykes would be buried below a wide blanket of alluvial cover.

To date, 64 trenches, spaced 25m have been excavated in 5 areas over a 2.3km north-south zone at Jibal Qutman. The results released are most encouraging, with some very good gold grades and modest silver grades.

Diamond drilling is planned on an initial 100m by 25m grid. The initial drilling commenced on the 8th of September at Jibal Qutmen with 20 holes for 4,000m of drilling planned. An additional rig is being sought to speed up the drilling.
