Entergy Corporation (Entergy) is an energy company engaged in electric power production and retail distribution operations. Entergy owns and operates power plants with approximately 30,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity, including 10,000 megawatts of nuclear power. The Company operates in two business segments: Utility operations and Entergy Wholesale Commodities. Utility business includes the generation, transmission, distribution, and sale of electric power and operates a small natural gas distribution business. Entergy Wholesale Commodities business includes the ownership and operation of six nuclear power plants located in the northern United States and the sale of the electric power produced by those plants to wholesale customers.
