Indian stock market daily closing report (March 18, 2013)

After a gap down opening, Indian markets traded in negative territory throughout the day on account of negative global cues. Global equity markets were jolted by news that the depositors in Cyprus have been asked to contribute to a financial?rescue plan during the euro?zone debt crisis.
The fall in Indian market was contained as the market is poised to take firm cues from the RBI midterm policy review which is due tomorrow.
The breadth of the market was negative in today’s trade.
